Growing Wheatgrass can be a terrific way to provide your bun with fresh greens year-round. Wheatgrass is extremely high in beta-carotene, high in the B-complex vitamins, vitamins E and K, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, protein, and other nutrients. It also contains large amounts of silicates that will help wear a rabbit’s teeth. Fresh-grown wheatgrass, if it is not washed before giving it to the rabbit, also provides a source of vitamin B12, which is produced by bacteria that adhere to the grass blades.

Wheat Grass can be used for Rabbits, Guineas, Rats, and Reptiles as well!

Cats can eat wheatgrass. While it may seem like strange behavior – especially since cats are obligate carnivores – they can benefit a lot from eating wheatgrass. Many cats will naturally self-select and choose to eat it on their own due to the high nutrient concentration.

Bearded Dragons can eat wheatgrass. It is a healthy choice to include in their diet alongside other leafy green foods. Wheatgrass packs a variety of nutrients and has a calcium-to-phosphorous ratio that is safe for the beardie.

Tortoises The young grass of the wheat plant is fine for Tortoises, but the grain is high in protein and gluten, the Calcium content is almost non-existent, and the phosphorus levels are high, so only allow tortoises to graze the leaves and remove the spike with the flowers or seeds on it.

Rats It's very nutritious. It is safe to give your rats roots and all!

Birds What does wheatgrass do for birds? Wheatgrass is known for its powerful antioxidant properties, great for stressed or molting birds. Suitable for all birds from Finches to Macaws.
